Element count depends on material viscosity and required homogeneity. For low-viscosity epoxies and polyurethanes, 7–8 elements typically achieve adequate mixing with lower pressure drop, which makes manual dispensing easier. For high-viscosity or fast-reacting materials, 17–21 elements provide more thorough blending. If you see color streaking, soft spots, or inconsistent cure across the bead, the element count is likely too low for the material at your dispensing pressure. Validate cure consistency before moving to a shorter element design.
